About Our RESIDENTS FOR CHANGE neighborhood Association
Residents for Change derived from a number of block watch groups that were disbanded in the Lincoln Park area. There were a small group of residents that had concern and passion to keep their neighborhoods safe and clean. Meetings were held at area churches, McDonald’s or a backyard to discuss what was going in the community. Seventh District Milwaukee Police Department along with Safe and Sound, a community organization, started hosting crime and safety meetings and residents began to meet on a continuous basis.
Residents for Change has now become Residents for Change
Neighborhood Association. There are currently 15 association
members. Our officers consist of a president, vice president,
secretary and a treasurer. We meet once a month, every 2nd
Saturday.
These meetings are aside from our community meetings hosted
at Northside Church of God, located at 4858 N. 19th Street, every
2nd Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. from March through
October. We are assisted by Northwest Side Community
Development
Corporation (NWSCDC) Neighborhood Strategic Planner, (NSP) Sheila Smith and Seventh District Milwaukee Police Department, Community Liaison Officer, (CLO) Bowie Buchner for these meetings.
